The Office of the Provost was honored to host Prof. Anthony Hollander, BSc, PhD, Pro‑Vice‑Chancellor for Research & Impact and Professor of Stem Cell Biology at the University of Liverpool, for the "Visionaries in Science and Scholarship" lecture Feb. 26.
Dr. Hollander is an internationally recognized leader in regenerative medicine whose career has focused on developing stem cell therapies for cartilage diseases. He was part of the team that created the world’s first tissue‑engineered airway, and he co‑founded biotech start‑ups translating university research into stem‑cell‑based therapies. At the University of Liverpool, he provides strategic leadership for research policy, drives research program impact, leads commercialization efforts, and builds partnerships with industry and external stakeholders.
Dr. Hollander's talk at UTMB included an overview of the University of Liverpool’s research strengths and potential avenues for collaboration. We are grateful for his wisdom and the opportunity to explore new pathways for innovation and partnership!
