Congratulations Dr. Yang

Congratulations to Dr. Yang for being funded $10,000 toward his Seed Grant Application!

Research conducted in Dr. Yang's lab focuses on transcriptional regulation in inflammation and infection, particularly in chronic lung diseases and respiratory viral infections. Advanced technologies are employed to investigate epigenetic mechanisms, including chromatin 3D configuration, long non-coding RNAs, and enhancer-silencer plasticity. The funded IM Seed Grant stems from their recent discovery in collaboration with clinicians, genetic counselors, and diagnostic labs, with a specific focus on genetic variants of human selenophosphate synthetase 1. The findings from this work are set to be published soon in the American Journal of Human Genetics. Support from the Seed Grant will facilitate the generation of preliminary data for future collaborative NIH R01 projects.
