Objectives: At this conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Review cases that resulted in unfavorable outcomes and determine casual factors
  2. Identify potential areas for improvement that could result in improved patient outcomes
  3. Enhance skills of data analysis, case review and clinical problem solving

Target Audience and NeedsInternal Medicine faculty, staff, registered nurses, residents, fellows, students, and internists specializing in Allergy & Immunology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, Geriatrics, Hematology & Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Palliative Care, Pulmonary Critical Care & Sleep Medicine, and Rheumatology need to be regularly updated with new research and guidelines regarding the evaluation and management of medical disorders and implement them in clinical practice to enhance the quality of patient care and improve patient outcomes.

Educational Methods: Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion.

Activity Evaluation: Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.

Accreditation/Credit Designation: Baylor College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
