We also recognized Dr. Hania Kassem with the Department of Internal Medicine Teaching Award for 2023. Dr. Kassem is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. She also serves as Associate Program Director of the Nephrology Fellowship. She joined UTMB in 2015. She was recognized for her excellence in teaching. She serves as attending physician on the inpatient consult service where she teaches students, residents, and fellows.
