Prior to joining UTMB, Corey was employed with the County of Galveston for almost 14 years, serving in a variety of capacities. Most recently, he was a Corporal in the Recruiting and Training Division of the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office where he specialized in background investigations and employee onboarding. Prior to that, Corey worked for a decade in Galveston County’s Human Resources department as the Senior Benefits Administrator. In that role, he served as the liaison to an employee population of over 1,350 and a retiree population of approximately 500. Outside of his professional career, Corey served as an elected official on the City Council for the City of Santa Fe from 2015 – 2021. Corey graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in political science with a minor in communication studies. He is married to his wife of 13 years, Heather, and is the proud father of 3 children: Lincoln (11), Theodore (8) and Rosemary (1).
