A change in Texas law signed by the governor in May allows physicians to see patients via video conference without a prior in-person interaction. As a result, UTMB’s Alexander Vo said UTMB is still in an active exploration phase to look at potential options for expanding telehealth. “The important thing for us to keep our eye on is that we continue to provide quality care and make sure we meet the standard of care through whatever medium we utilize,” Vo said.
