At a media teleconference, NASA discussed science investigations that will be part of the next SpaceX commercial resupply flight to the International Space Station. UTMB’s Joan Nichols designed one of the experiments, which will use the microgravity environment of space to test strategies for growing new lung tissue, and assists earth based efforts to develop complex bioengineered tissue that can be used to repair damage organs or reduce organ rejection.
