Biography

Jennifer Gunn, OTD, MS, OTR/L is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Florida (2009), Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Florida Gulf Coast University (2013), and Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy from Baylor University (2023).

With over a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Gunn brings a comprehensive and diverse background to her teaching. Her practice has spanned pediatric and adult outpatient and acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, home health, and low vision. She has pursued advanced training in trauma-informed care, pediatric feeding, and low vision rehabilitation. Dr. Gunn's teaching interests include infant and child development and fieldwork education. Her research has focused on trauma-informed care in children and youth. She is interested in investigating the impact of attachment on nervous system regulation, reflecting her commitment to holistic, evidence-based approached to occupational therapy. 

Dedicated to fostering student growth and professional excellence, Dr. Gunn integrates her clinical expertise with a passion for advancing occupational therapy education and practice.
