Global Health Rotation | Packing Guide

What to Pack


  • White Coat & acceptable clothing for the region
  • A couple of business professional outfits
  • Personal medications & preferred toiletries
  • Contact lenses/cleaner, prescriptions glasses and sunglasses
  • Basic first aid supplies & broad-spectrum antibiotic
  • Insect repellent, sunblock, pain reliever/fever reducer, antacid, mild sedative, anti-diarrheal medicine, antihistamines,, laxatives, and antibiotic cream.
  • $200 cash in small denominations for travel days, best exchange rate in country at ATMs. Credit cards may  only be accepted in larger cities.
  • Stethoscope, N95 masks (Obtain from Global Health office), gloves, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, and travel kleenex.
  • Laptop or tablet & charger, adapter and/or converter, camera & associated equipment, rechargeable batteries and flashlight.
  • Hat, reuseable shopping tote, ear buds, and card games.

What to leave home


  • Designer jewelry & clothing
  • Extra credit cards
  • Anything of sentimental value
  • For women: wedding rings with large stones - but a simple token band/ring
