Faculty Profile

  • Megan Berman, MD, FACP, is a Professor in the Division of General Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She is faculty with the Sealy Institute for Vaccine Sciences and serves as Director of the Anticoagulation Clinics. Clinically, she practices both primary care in the Harborside Medical Group and hospital medicine in the inpatient setting.

    Dr. Berman earned her medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. After working as a hospitalist in South Carolina, she joined the UTMB faculty in 2008. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

    Her academic work centers on clinical vaccinology, including participation in national and international vaccine trials across phase I–IV development. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Sealy Institute for Vaccine Sciences and leads UTMB’s community vaccine outreach through lectures, educational programs, and as co-author of the long-running VaccineSmarts column.

    Her clinical interests include preventive medicine and chronic disease management. She is committed to patient-centered care and to teaching students, residents, and fellows in vaccinology and evidence-based internal medicine.
