“ “Please Provide Written Comments”: Why What you Write Matters ”


Objectives: At this conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognize the value and impact of written narratives for feedback and assessment.
  2. Apply evidence-based guidelines to critique sample narrative comments.
  3. Recognize language use in comments that may convey bias.

Target Audience and Needs: Internal Medicine faculty, staff, registered nurses, residents, fellows, students, and internists specializing in Allergy & Immunology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, Geriatrics, Hematology & Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Palliative Care, Pulmonary Critical Care & Sleep Medicine, and Rheumatology need to be regularly updated with new research and guidelines regarding the evaluation and management of medical disorders and implement them in clinical practice to enhance the quality of patient care and improve patient outcomes.

Educational Methods: Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion.

Activity Evaluation: Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
