HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis- The Second Decade


Objectives: At this conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Apply updated clinical practice guidelines to their care for patients at risk for HIV infection.
  2. More readily identify candidates who may benefit from HIV PrEP.
  3. Recognize the changing therapeutic landscape for HIV prevention.

Target Audience and Needs: Internal Medicine faculty, staff, registered nurses, residents, fellows, students, and internists specializing in Allergy & Immunology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, Geriatrics, Hematology & Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Palliative Care, Pulmonary Critical Care & Sleep Medicine, and Rheumatology need to be regularly updated with new research and guidelines regarding the evaluation and management of medical disorders and implement them in clinical practice to enhance the quality of patient care and improve patient outcomes.

Educational Methods: Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion.

Activity Evaluation: Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
