    UTMB Police Department receives CALEA reaccreditation

    For the fourth time, the University of Texas Medical Branch Police Department has been awarded national law enforcement accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

    Dr. Karen Szauter, assistant dean in the Office of Educational Affairs at the University of Texas Medical Branch, was named a recipient of the 2023 Association of American Medical Colleges Alpha Omega Alpha Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award.

    Dr. Tiziana Corsello-Gorgun awarded funding for research on extracellular vesicles

    Dr. Tiziana Corsello, researcher and assistant professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch, was awarded the Catalyst Award from the American Lung Association Research Institute to study extracellular vesicles and how they carry viral infections. The award comes with $50,000 for up to two years.

    UTMB Health Receives CHIME Digital Health ‘Most Wired’ Award

    The University of Texas Medical Branch received a “Most Wired Award” for 2023 in acute care and ambulatory surveys conducted by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), a professional organization focused on health care information technology, for UTMB’s use of technology to improve patient care.

    UTMB police honored with international awards

    The UTMB Police Department was honored recently by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators. In a ceremony held last month in Orlando, the department received two of the four international awards given.
