Eye and Ear Clinical Research Center
Facilities
The Eye and Ear Clinical Research Center established in 2007, is a 2135 square foot facility dedicated to research in Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology in humans. The facility, under the direction of Dr. Gianmarco Vizzeri, is housed in the third floor of 700 University Boulevard, in proximity to the Eye and Ear clinics of UTMB and their full capabilities are available to us. The research center houses a sample processing lab, 2 exam rooms, a procedure room, imaging facilities and necessary storage for materials for clinical trials and investigator initiated protocols. Our administrative offices and records rooms house our clinical research coordinator staff and study regulatory documents. We are a full service outpatient research center with inpatient service capability in collaboration with the Institute for Translational Research and the General Clinical Research Center in the main hospital complex.
The Eye and Ear Clinical Research Center executes industry sponsored FDA trials, investigator initiated human subject research and translational studies in collaboration with Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology basic science teams. We collaborate with industry sponsors and institutions of note, such as Houston Methodist Research, Duke University, Northwestern University and University of Columbia Medical Center in cutting edge research. We bring the future to Eye and Ear Care.
