Didactics

Didactic Overview:

The Department of Neurology at UTMB has a comprehensive didactic curriculum aimed to enhance resident’s knowledge in management of neurological diseases. With daily morning reports and noon-lectures; paired with monthly multi-subspecialty conferences, Mortality &Morbidity meetings and journal clubs, residents at UTMB have exposure to a wide assortment of conferences and lectures.&

The best facet of the didactic program and a favorite among the residents are the daily Morning reports conducted by our chairman Dr. Bhardwaj and attended by all residents and faculty members. The night float on-call resident presents overnight cases which are dissected, and residents are taught to “think like a neurologist”. Discussions are raised on neuro-localization, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, and management of selected neurologic conditions.

Conferences and Lectures:

Anish Bhardwaj Visiting Professorship: Biannually UTMB neurology hosts a distinguished faculty of international standing at UTMB to speak and interact with the residents and faculty at UTMB Neurology. There is a dinner, conference, live patient rounds, and then lunch with residents and faculty. Please view this link to see a list of former speakers, and pictures.
