Dr. Khan completed his medical school training at Mymensingh Medical College, Bangladesh (1975-1981), and attended a master’s in public health from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA in 1992. He subsequently completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Queens Hospital Center, New York (1995-1996), and Neurology residency training from Kansas University Medical Center, KS (1996-1999). He was chief resident of the Neurology Program at KU.
Dr. Khan is a dedicated health care professional of over 20 years, whose accomplishments reflect strong leadership skills, a demonstrated commitment to community outreach, and passion for medical practice. He is well versed in his field, with excellent time management and organization skills, and has the ability to multi-task under concurrent deadlines, all talents he employs to better serve his patients.
He has practiced neurology at Texoma Neurology Associates (1999-2002), served as the head of the Department of Neurology at Ochsner Medical Center, Baton Rouge, LA (2002-2019), and served as a neurologist in the multispecialty group at UTMB Health’s Clear Lake Campus (2019-present).
He was the founder of Bangladesh Medical Association of North America (BMANA_LA), Louisiana in 2011 and led the organization as its president until 2019. He has traveled to Bangladesh as a visiting professor to lecture at the post-graduate level at the Institute of Bangladesh.
