Michelle Sierpina, PhD
Dr. Sierpina is the Founding Director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UTMB Health in Galveston, Texas, and she serves on the faculty of UTMB’s School of Nursing. Dr. Sierpina's lifestory protocol has been studied by three research teams and published in peer-reviewed professional journals. A Distinguished Teaching Professor in the UT System and former member of UTMB’s Academy of Master Teachers, she has taught at UT Houston Center on Aging, University of Nevada, Reno, St. George’s Medical University, Grenada, and at conferences around the nation and in Australia. Michelle has published peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on topics in gerontology, spirituality, and creativity. OLLI’s proud partnership with PreventT2® and its corollary initiatives strengthen our service to our members and the community by providing and disseminating evidence-based healthcare and healthy lifestyle information. Medical students, resident physicians, graduate school interns, and others who rotate through OLLI as a part of their training expand that outreach.
