Distance Learning DPP at UTMB received "Full Plus Recognition" by the CDC!!

The Diabetes Prevention Program at the Division of Endocrinology has received a Full Plus Recognition status by the CDC for its distance learning modality making UTMB the first academic institution in Texas to receive such a great honor. This full recognition status indicates that the program has been effectively delivered to people with prediabetes or at risk for diabetes according to the CDC standards. It is known that the program in-person modality has received Full Recognition twice in a row in 2019 and early 2021, despite the pandemic. The Diabetes Prevention Program is supported by the Texas Department of State Health Services (PI: Hani Serag – Co-PI: Hanaa Sallam).
