Thank everyone for attending this engaging community-based event where we provided early identification and evidence-based patient education to senior residents at an independent living facility. Our goal was to bring relevant research findings beyond the academic setting and translate them into practical, easy to understand health information that residents can apply in their everyday lives. The event offered presentations from Dr. Miso Lee (Geriatrics), Dr. Hani Serag (Population Health and Health Disparities), Ms. Sharon Zhao (Obra D. Tompkins High School with Sarah Zhang & Fuman Gary Zhao), Dr. Katherine Careaga (Population Health and Health Disparities), and Dr. Hanaa Sallam (Population Health and Health Disparities). Health screenings such as blood pressure and blood glucose were also conducted by four MS2 students (@Hanming Li, Eunice Park, Oluwatobi Olaomoju, BSN, RN, Eunhye Jeon), one MS3 student (Omar Malik), one PhD student (Angelica Moore), and one staff (Erika Saldana).
