Bio - Silveira, Diosely, MD, PhD, FAES

  • Diosely C. Silveira, MD, PhD, FAES, has been a full-;me Professor (NTT) of Neurology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) since August of 2023. She completed her medical training at the Faculdade de Medicina de Marilia, São Paulo (Brazil), and her PhD at Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Brazil (1991-1994). She had her neurology residency training at the JFK Neurological Institute and Seton Hall University in Edison, New Jersey (2004- 2007). She then completed fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2008 and subsequently worked as staff at the neurology department at Cleveland Clinic until 2010. She then moved to Brazil for four years and returned to the US in 2015 to become an associate professor at Seton Hall University and then at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and the director of the epilepsy center at JFK Neuroscience Institute in Edison, New Jersey (2015-2023). She is board-certified in neurology, clinical neurophysiology, and epilepsy. Her clinical interests include patients with drug-resistant epilepsy and epilepsy in older adults.
