Mandatory Fees
Library Acquisition Fee – supports the acquisition of print and electronic library materials (books, journals, databases, media, and software).
Educational Technology Infrastructure Fee – supports the institutional course management system, lecture capture, educational software, online testing application etc.
Student Computing and Teaching Equipment Fee – restricted to the annual maintenance and support costs of personal computer workstations in the Library, including the testing centers and classrooms supported by Classroom Services; and, computer-related teaching equipment including items such as video conferencing hardware, digital monitors, lectern technology switching equipment, projection screens, digital projectors, digital cameras, video-capture equipment, servers etc.
Student Services Fee - A fee authorized by Section 54.503 of the Texas Education Code, charged for the provision of services that directly involve or benefit students. This fee is used to provide a well-rounded program of activities and services for students of the university that are separate and apart from the regularly scheduled academic functions of the University and directly involve or benefit students. These services and activities include student government and organizations, financial aid, counseling, and career services, and other student activities and services.
Fieldhouse Fee - A fee authorized by Section 54.503 of the Texas Education Code, charged to defray expenses associated with the operation of the Alumni Fieldhouse.
Campus Security and Safety Fee – provides revenue to support the costs associated with campus security systems and components such as campus Blue Lights and the UTMB Safe App as well as various crime prevention efforts.
Medical Service Fee – A fee authorized by Section 54.50891 of the Texas Education Code to help operate and maintain the student health clinic.
Jamail Student Center Fee - Provides revenue for financing, constructing, operating, maintaining, renovating, improving, or equipping the Jamail Student Center and the student space on the ground floor of Old Red.
