UTMB’s water tower off Harborside Drive has a fresh coat of paint and now carries the current UTMB logo.

About 100 students, staff and members of the public gathered for a SCI Café at the Mod Coffeehouse Oct. 16 to hear Dr. Scott Weaver, scientific director of the Galveston National Laboratory, and Dr. Tom Ksiazek, director of high containment laboratory operations for the Galveston National Laboratory and a former official with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. Dr. Ksaizek recently traveled to Sierra Leone to aid in CDC efforts to combat Ebola.
