UTMB is one of two winners of the DiversityFIRST™ Corporate Commitment Award by the Texas Diversity Council and the Gulf Coast Advisory Board. Adeola Oduwole, Director of Diversity & Inclusion at UTMB, received the award on Oct. 30. Nomination criteria included: development and implementation of an equal opportunity or affirmative action program as demonstrated by a diversified workforce; visionary and insightful leadership to confront and resolve inequities through strategic decision making, allocation of resources, and establishment of priorities; demonstration of a consistent pattern of organization commitment to the recruitment and retention of individuals from underrepresented populations; and cultivation and promotion of diversity initiatives that establish and foster an inclusive learning environment.
