UTMB Research Core Facilities
The UTMB Research Core Facilities provide centralized, shared scientific infrastructure and expertise that supports investigators across basic, translational, and clinical research programs. These cores offer access to advanced instrumentation, specialized technical expertise, standardized methodologies, and consultative support that would be difficult or cost‑prohibitive for individual laboratories to maintain independently. By integrating capabilities such as genomics, mass spectrometry-based proteomics, lipidomics and metabolomics with flow cytometry, aerobiology, molecular genetics, tissue culture, assay development, and biostatistics, the cores enable rigorous, reproducible, and efficient research across diverse biomedical disciplines. The core model also fosters collaboration, accelerates innovation, and ensures compliance with best practices and regulatory standards. Collectively, these facilities form a critical backbone of UTMB’s research enterprise, supporting discovery, innovation, validation, and translation of new knowledge.
