About Student Life

Each year the Office of Student Life leads and facilitates cultural, recreational, and social celebrations, ceremonies, and events for the University community. We collaborate with students and faculty in the implementation of programs and activities that support students’ personal and professional development, while expanding their learning experiences.

There are over 90 active student organizations here at UTMB. Involvement in one or more organizations helps develop essential life skills, critical thinking, leadership, lifelong learning, and oral and written communication skills. Through additional participation in University related activities, you will discover multicultural and global perspectives, civic and individual responsibility, respect for individuals, a sense of competence, and the capacity to work well with others.

In addition to working with organizations, the Office of Student Life also work with, coordinates or provides support to the following:

:: Student Government Association
:: T.G.I.T.s (social events)
:: Intramurals
:: All Sports Day
:: Welcome Weekend (Fall new student welcome event)
:: Community service projects
:: Leadership development

Save the date! This year's United to Serve community service event will be held on March 25. As soon as our volunteer locations are finalized we will post a link to sign up for your desired location.

Mardi Gras

The UTMB Office of Student Life is bringing the fun of Mardi Gras to campus on February 28! Students can catch custom UTMB beads, enjoy King Cake, while listening to music and taking a break. The event is being held outside of Jamail Hall from 12:00-1:00pm.

Students (and their spouses) are invited to attend a special screening of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them on February 23 in the Clinical Sciences Auditorium. In addition to screening the film, The Office of Student Life will be hosting trivia with giveaways and providing pizza and popcorn!

Looking to connect with peers and faculty from across all fields? Come wine and dine with us at the 2017 Faculty Student Mixer! Free FOOD, WINE, DRINKS, & MORE. The event is open to students of all classes.
