Clark Joins COVID-19 Vaccine Confidence Champion Network and Team Halo

Dr. Shannon Clark, professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Medical Branch, was selected for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists COVID-19 Vaccine Confidence Champion Network and Team Halo.

The COVID-19 Vaccine Confidence Champion Network aims to educate colleagues, patients and communities about the safety and benefits of COVID-19 vaccines by serving as trusted sources of evidence-based information for pregnant and non-pregnant individuals.

Team Halo is a group of scientists and healthcare professionals from around the world, working to end the pandemic by volunteering their time to address COVID-19 vaccine concerns and misinformation.

Team Halo was established as part of the United Nations Verified initiative in partnership with Purpose and the Vaccine Confidence Project at the University of London’s School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine to provide accurate and up-to-date facts on the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines.

“I have worked diligently to educate on COVID infection and vaccination while trying to conceive, and during pregnancy and lactation, as well as dispel myths,” Clark said. “Being a member of networks allows me to continue to educate and reach an even wider audience to help get our trying to conceive, pregnant and lactating patients protected.”
