Trademarks and Licensing

The UTMB/UTMB Health name, seal and logos—with or without tagline, in all approved color combinations—are registered trademarks of The University of Texas System Board of Regents. A licensed vendor is required to produce merchandise featuring the UTMB Health logo or name, whether used for resale or as giveaways.

The UT System Office of Brand, Trademarks and Licensing manages the licensing programs on behalf of all the UT System institutions, including UTMB Health through an agreement with the CLC licensing agency. The licensing policies and procedures ensure consistent application of the UTMB Health brand, protection of use from non-licensed vendors, and, where applicable, proper payment of required royalty fees. Your licensed vendor will handle the approval process with the UT System Office of Brand, Trademarks and Licensing and the CLC online portal for artwork review.

To find a licensed vendor for UTMB Health merchandise, see the UT System Institutions pagemaintained by the UT System Office of Brand, Trademarks and Licensing. Scroll down to the table and click UTMB’s vendor list link. Check back frequently for updates. (Please note that vendors in UTMB's accounts payable system are not necessarily licensed to produce branded merchandise.)

Before ordering, please ensure you are meeting all UTMB Purchasing requirements, such as estimates and consideration of Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) vendors.

Artwork review generally takes 3-5 business days from the time your vendor adds it to the review portal. Please allow sufficient time for review in case changes are required. Rush requests may be considered but cannot be guaranteed. The Office of Brand, Trademarks and Licensing will contact the UTMB Health Brand Management Team with questions if needed.

Note: There are some exceptions to the licensed vendor requirement. See examples of printed materials that do NOT require the use of a licensed vendor but may require approval from UTMB Health Brand Management Team.
