A detailed look at the various types of Focal Ablation therapy of the prostate.

Wavelength Medical specializes in Focal Ablation.

Focal ablation therapy of the prostate gland destroys the tumor without removing the entire gland. We destroy the tumor by heating it, cooling it, or shrinking it until it dies. Only specific patients are good candidates for this therapy.

Freeze the Tumor

Cryotherapy: Freezing the tumor with ultra short and strong electrical fields.

Heat the Tumor

Focal laser ablation (FLA): heating the tumor with highly focused, precise, and accurate laser energy. This process is performed with the FDA-approved Elesta EchoLaser. Learn more about the Elesta EchoLaser from the exclusive US distributor National Ultrasound.

Microwave ablation: heating the tumor with electromagnetic waves of 300 MHz to 300 GHz

Radiofrequency ablation: heating the tumor with electromagnetic waves of 350 kHz to 500 kHz

Shrink the Tumor

Irreversible electroporation (IRE): Shrinking the tumor to death with ultra short and strong electrical fields.
