2026 14th Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) Southwest Region Conference
Dear Attendees,
On behalf of the Latino Medical Student Association Southwest Region and our host at the University of Texas Medical Branch John Sealy School of Medicine, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 14th Annual LMSA Southwest Regional Conference. We are truly excited to have you here and grateful that you chose to spend your weekend with us!
This year’s theme, “Healing Beyond Borders: Uniting Passion, Purpose, and Progress in Medicine,” reflects the heart of our mission as an organization and as future physicians. It speaks to our commitment to advancing medicine, uplifting underrepresented voices, and building a more compassionate healthcare system. Throughout the weekend, we encourage you to ask questions, share your experiences, and take advantage of the opportunity to learn from one another.
Whether this is your first LMSA conference or one of many, we hope you find this space welcoming, inspiring, and affirming. Our goal is for each of you to leave feeling supported, motivated, and more confident in your path toward medicine. Beyond the workshops, panels, and sessions, we hope you take time to connect, build lasting relationships, and celebrate the community that brings us all together.
Thank you for being part of LMSA and for your dedication to service, advocacy, and excellence in medicine. Your presence and participation make this conference possible and meaningful. We wish you a weekend filled with learning, connection, and moments that remind you why you chose this path. Welcome, and enjoy the conference!
Sincerely,
Janay Rocha & Martin Silguero Jr.
