Physician Assistants
- Licensed
to practice medicine and provide a wide range of healthcare diagnostic
and treatment services with physician supervision.
- Conduct
physical examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and
interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, assist in surgery,
and write prescriptions.
- Specialize
in areas like emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery,
pediatrics, etc. after completing a core group of educational
requirements.
- Work in hospitals, clinics, physician offices, nursing homes, and other healthcare environments.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of Physician Assistants (PA) was projected to grow by 37% from 2016 to 2026. A 2015 American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) study found that more than 96% would recommend their PA career
to others. U.S. News & World Report reports that in 2020, the median salary for PAs is $115,390.
