The Office of Clinical Education (OCE) provides oversight
of all clinical education for John Sealy School of Medicine students in the MD program, from
community placements and other clinical experiences in the preclinical phase through the clerkship and post-clerkship phases of the curriculum.
Our OCE staff partner with UTMB faculty and staff across all schools, as well as community-based physicians, to provide didactic and experiential clinical learning opportunities for our medical students across all phases of the JSSOM curriculum.

The mission of the Office of Clinical Education (OCE) is to provide optimal clinical learning opportunities using a variety of modalities and environments as students progress through the JSSOM MD curriculum, with the ultimate goal of training competent physicians dedicated to clinical excellence, lifelong learning, and the highest standards of professionalism.
