The mission of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB Health) is to provide scholarly teaching, innovative scientific investigation, medical education, and state-of-the-art patient care to better the health of society. UTMB Health’s educational programs provide an opportunity for talented individuals to become outstanding practitioners, educators, and investigators in the health care sciences. Since its founding, UTMB Health has been, and continues to be, a leader in providing medical education.
We provide beneficial information to guide you through the medical school admissions process, as well as highlight unique aspects of JSSOM, including an opportunity to view our Galveston campus and interact with our faculty, staff, and medical students.
Our office routinely visits college campuses to speak with pre-medical and pre-health student organizations. In addition, we host an annual premedical conference in the fall to inform premedical students and their advisors about UTMB’s medical education opportunities. We also host open house visits by various college and high school student groups on the UTMB Galveston campus.
