4th Thursday Think Tank
Brought to you by Education Research Committee and Office of Educational Development
Join us and bring colleagues for a time to focus on educational
scholarship. We usually meet on the 4th Thursday of the month from 4-5
in Graves 2.308. We vary from this schedule according to the needs
of presenters including those seeking works-in-progress session. The
types of discussions include:
Works in progress: These sessions are informal
1-hour discussions of educational research or evaluation projects still
in the design phase. Anyone interested in educational research,
evaluation, or the topic under investigation is welcome to participate.
These sessions are meant to help the presenters refine or develop
their work, but they also serve to challenge all participants to think
carefully and creatively about the particular challenges presented by
the project.
Research Skills: These sessions focus on skills
used by educational researchers in the design, analysis and
dissemination of educational research
Journal Club: These sessions provide an opportunity to reflect on and discuss current literature in educational research.
Conference Preparation: These sessions focus on
potential responses to requests for proposals for annual conferences
with a venue for presenting educational projects or research.
