Teaching Skills Workshops

The Teaching Skills Workshop Series is co-sponsored by OED and UTMB’s Academy of Master Teachers offering 1-hour sessions either monthly or twice a month. The topics vary by the interests of the presenters, but the sessions are oriented toward developing skills essential for educators and highlighting innovative and effective instructional methodologies being implemented by UTMB faculty. Each topic is offered twice, at noon and in the late afternoon, to increase accessibility for busy faculty. The series has been traditionally offered as in-person, interactive workshops, but sometimes a virtual option via the Zoom platform is offered. Topics of interest include "Scholarly Teaching and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning," "Analyzing Educational Materials for Bias and Racism in Health Professions Education," and "Best Practices in Team-Based Learning Online".
