Overview
The Global Health Scholarly Concentration at JSSOM offers a unique opportunity for medical students to study the many dimensions of global health and development and gain experience working in healthcare settings around the globe.
Program Description
Upon completion of the Global Health Scholarly Concentration, students will be able to:
- Analyze global health inequities, specifically focusing on how social determinants and sustainable development impact the global burden of disease.
- Participate in medical or research practices through international or domestic electives, adapting to diverse healthcare settings around the world.
- Design and complete a Capstone project that integrates four years of longitudinal global health curriculum into a final presentation.
- Identify and address the challenges of providing healthcare in resource-limited or culturally diverse environments.
