Overview
JSSOM offers the High Impact Basic Science and Clinical Research (NIBSCR) Scholarly Concentration in a special field of research training for medical students that augments the regular medical school curriculum.
Program Description
The students will learn the process of examining basic science and clinical questions through a systemic and rigorous approach.
By working with mentors, the students will satisfy their intellectual curiosity and gain invaluable insights into challenges and opportunities in their specific fields. Their pursuits and research papers will differentiate them in resident application process.
Curriculum
The students will learn to write a research proposal. They will continue the basic science and clinical research outlined in the proposal, analyze data, write the thesis and/or write a research paper which should include introduction, methods, results and discussion along with appropriate references.
How to Apply
Students need to have some levels of research experiences (e.g. SRP) in a specific field and an advisor in mind. Students should contact the director and/or coordinator of the HIBSCR scholarly concentration.
