340B Compliance and UTMB

The 340B Drug Discount Program is a federal government program created in 1992 that requires drug manufacturers to provide outpatient drugs to eligible health organizations at significantly reduced prices. The intent of the program is to allow eligible entities such as UTMB to stretch scarce federal resources as far as possible, reaching more eligible patients and providing more comprehensive services to the patients and communities we serve.

UTMB has participated in the program since 1994 and our participation is vital to our ability to support many patients to whom we might otherwise not be able to provide services.
