Research Compliance

Overview

One of the fundamental goals of the Office of Institutional Compliance (OIC) is to support and promote ethical research practices at UTMB.

The OIC serves the UTMB community by offering guidance on a wide range of research compliance issues, including human subjects research and the use of animals in research, conflicts of interest, export control issues, and research misconduct and to ensure that UTMB is compliant with federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as UTMB and UT System policies. Additionally, the OIC works to integrate research compliance education and training across UTMB and to develop new educational programs.
