About TACC
The Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) at
The University of Texas at Austin is one of the leading centers of computational excellence in the United States. Located on the J.J. Pickle Research Campus, the center's mission is to enable discoveries that advance science and society through the application of advanced computing technologies.
To fulfill this mission, TACC identifies, evaluates, deploys, and supports powerful computing, visualization, and storage systems and software. TACC staff help researchers and educators use these technologies effectively, and conduct research and development to make these technologies more powerful, more reliable, and easier to use.

Advancing the Initiative
The UT System is advancing the UT Research Cyberinfrastructure (UTRC) initiative in order to provide new capabilities that advance current and future research efforts across all UT institutions. By providing a combination of advanced
computational systems, a large data storage opportunity, and high bandwidth data access between the institutions, UTRC enables researchers within all 14 UT System institutions to collaborate with each other and compete at the forefront of science and discovery.
The UTRC initiative represents an active collaboration with Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC), a national advanced computing center and key player in the NSF Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE). TACC operates some of the
most powerful computing and visualization systems in the world.
