She has made numerous seminal observations to our understanding of the neuropsychopharmacology of abused drugs, the underlying neurobiology of behavior, and identification of novel biomarkers and neurotherapeutics. Her work has been continuously funded by NIH and published 170+ peer-reviewed papers. She is an active educator, mentor, and board member for community programs, secondary/high schools, and colleges in the region. Dr. David Houghton Close Dr. David Houghton Co-Director and Co-Investigator Dr. Houghton is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UTMB. His research focuses on the causes of and treatments for impulsive/compulsive behavior disorders, which specific interest in understanding neurobehavioral phenotypes and developing targeted therapeutics. His diverse clinical expertise as a clinical psychologist includes specialization in cognitive behavior therapy, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, impulsive behaviors, and behavioral medicine. Donna Adams Close Donna Adams Program CoordinatorMs. Adams is a Training Manager in the Institute for Translational Sciences, Office of Educational Programs at UTMB. She has extensive experience in designing and facilitating educational programs and translational research endeavors. Nicole Bilotta Close Nicole Bilotta Program CoordinatorMs. Bilotta is an Educational Specialist in the Institute for Translational Sciences, Office of Educational Programs at UTMB. She coordinates the Human Pathophysiology and Translational Medicine graduate program and has many years of experience working with students and faculty in the education/research fields. Dr. Kaitlin Leckie Close Dr. Kaitlin Leckie Program Coordinator Dr. Leckie is Assistant Professor and Director of Behavioral Health in the Department of Family Medicine at UTMB. Her clinical and research interests are in collaborative and integrative health care and maintains a commitment to educating healthcare professionals. Dr. Pamela Harris-Haman Close Dr. Pamela Harris-Haman Program Coordinator Dr. Harris-Haman is Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at UTMB. Her clinical and research interests are focused on maternal and neonatal health in relation to opioid use.
