These kits are to help us remind parents regarding the importance of playing with their children and with using simple toys that are not screen based. These are the Duplo style of Lego bricks and are not choking hazards.

1 in 4 children will be exposed to domestic violence in their lifetime. A new report from UTMB’s Center for Violence Prevention and the Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing (TXICFW) at UT Austin reveals the service needs of children and families exposed to domestic violence and resource gaps in domestic violence and child welfare agencies in Texas.

Marie Dawlett, MD, of the UTMB Department of Pediatrics says that families didn’t really see a “season” of transmission of RSV, rhinovirus and other ailments in the fall and winter of 2020-2021 that typically arise during that time. Now that precautions are not being followed as closely as before, more toddlers are at risk. Dr. Dawlett recommends that parents monitor their children for signs of shortness of breath, or struggling with breathing.

RSV is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. Almost all children get RSV at least once before they are two years old. For most healthy children, RSV is like a cold, but it can be severe for some infants. Here are things you can do to prevent the spread of RSV.

The medication Zantac/ranitidine has been in the news recently regarding levels of NDMA (a cancer causing agent). The FDA has released a variety of statements regarding this, and at this time, they are beginning a major investigation.
