Results from the 2026 Vizient Quality and Accountability (Q&A) Study have been released. UTMB Health pediatric hospital services earned Vizient’s Top Performer award for the second consecutive year, the only academic medical center in Texas to receive this distinction. This recognition reflects the continued work of our teams to deliver high-quality, safe care and improve outcomes for our patients.
Below are the 2026 star ratings for The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Health System:
- Pediatric Q&A: 5 stars
- Ambulatory Q&A: 4 stars
- Inpatient Q&A: 4 stars
Earning five stars in Pediatric Q&A and four stars in both Ambulatory and Inpatient Q&A is a significant accomplishment and reflects strong performance across the UTMB Health System. We are proud to see that work recognized across each of these areas.
We are especially
proud to be the only
academic medical center in Texas to receive this recognition. This achievement
reflects the exceptional work, dedication, and commitment to quality and
patient safety demonstrated every day by our physicians, advanced practice
providers, nurses, staff, and multidisciplinary teams across our inpatient
pediatric services.
As I begin my new
role as Vice
Chair of Inpatient Pediatrics, I look forward to continuing to work closely with
the leaders and teams across Pediatric Hospital Medicine, Pediatric Intensive
Care, Neonatology, Newborn Nursery Services, inpatient consulting services, and
our Quality Team. Together, we will build upon this success, continue
strengthening collaboration across our inpatient services, and maintain the
high standards of care that have earned this national recognition.
