We have hospital and clinical services available on Galveston Island and the surrounding communities. Our clinics offer leading-edge academic primary, specialty and urgent care. Our urgent care clinics have pediatricians available to address any child’s urgent health care needs. In order to give all patients the earliest possible appointment, we respectfully request that if you must cancel, you cancel 24 hours in advance of your appointment date and time.

The fully redesigned hospital and child life program reflect an attention to detail that matters to children. UTMB Health offers advanced general inpatient care for ill children, as well as specialty inpatient care for children with serious medical conditions. Our pediatric hospitalists, attending faculty physicians, nurses, residents, students and staff provide state-of-the-art clinical care and the emotional support that is essential during a hospital stay. Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) offers critical care services for infants, children and adolescents with severe illnesses or injuries. We can arrange emergency helicopter transport when needed to serve the most seriously ill children in our region.

    UTMB's Galveston Labor & Delivery is currently a 35-bed unit specializing in the care of pregnant women during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages of their pregnancy. We deliver approximately 5,500 babies per year.

    We'd love to share our newest addition with you and your baby. Our newly renovated unit includes spacious birthing suites that offer a “family-centered” birth experience, allowing the family to experience the entire birth process – labor, delivery, and recovery – in a single area. These rooms can comfortably accommodate family members and caregivers including physicians, midwives, nurses, and the pediatric team.

    Because safety for mother and baby is always the first consideration, all birthing suites are equipped with everything needed for a safe and healthy delivery. Plus, we've added a few extras to make the event one that is comfortable and easy to share with the chosen loved ones, including convertible sleep chairs, flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with walk-in shower.

    Our newly renovated Labor & Delivery unit contains:

    • 20 birthing suites for labor, delivery, and recovery
    • 2 ICU beds for critically ill OB mothers

    UTMB Clear Lake Campus offers exceptional care for mothers and their healthy newborns in spacious LDRP rooms. Here, families stay in the same room throughout their birthing experience and Mother-Baby stay.

    Our new Labor, Delivery, Recovery Mother/Baby Rooms contains:

    • Birthing suites designed with significant input from patients, nursing staff and physicians
    • Oversized room for mom and baby to stay together
    • Large, private bathroom in each room designed to accommodate mom’s personal belongings
    • Free Wi-Fi, comfortable sofa-bed, rocking glider chair, oversized windows

    If you are like most expectant parents, you have a number of questions about your pregnancy, your health, your baby's health and more. UTMB Health Angleton Danbury Campus' team of experienced physicians and nurses provides the information you need to prepare for the big event. Information and communication with your physician and hands-on teaching after delivery in Our experienced team will assist you with the skills needed to give you and your family the great beginning you deserve.

    Our nursing staff is committed to providing the best care available in a manner that is responsive to your needs. The nursing staff has been educated to meet your comprehensive health care needs in a professional, sensitive manner. Our goal is to meet the physical, emotional, and educational needs related to your treatment.

    Upon your arrival to our unit, we will assign a team to your care. This team believes that preventive health care should be a priority for all women. It is our desire to assist you in becoming more knowledgeable about matters that affect your health. We want your recovery and stay with us to be a positive experience.

    Our spacious, sunny birthing rooms are designed with your comfort and care in mind. In fact, many of our new mothers at UTMB Health Angleton Danbury Campus remark that they feel right at home in the welcoming atmosphere of the mother and child rooms of The Peklo Women's Pavilion. Everything from the beautiful decor to the personal touch of the dedicated nurses makes this wondrous family experience an even more joyous occasion.

    The Clear Lake Campus offers 24-hour emergency care for children of all ages. UTMB Health in collaboration with Children's Memorial Hermann includes a Pediatric Emergency Department staffed by pediatric providers and nursing staff trained in pediatric care. Emergency Medicine is equipped with CT, X-Ray, ultrasound, and MRI capabilities, full diagnostics lab and respiratory services, as well as a telemetry monitoring system, enabling patients to have freedom of mobility.
