Coagulation Consultation Services


The UTMB Coagulation Consultation Service is available 24 hours/day to provide clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of bleeding and clotting disorders.Consultations are encouraged as soon as hemostatic or thrombotic issues are suspected to expedite the diagnosis and initiate appropriate therapies.

Consultations are provided on a routine and emergent basis for inpatients and outpatients via EPIC request AND notification of the coagulation consultation service physician at pager (409) 645-6363.

The Coagulation Consultation Service works closely with the UTMB Clinical Hematology Laboratory, Blood Bank, and Pharmacy Departments to promote appropriate utilization of laboratory testing and effective treatment modalities.
