Animal Injuries in the Pediatric Urgent Care

Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, participants should be able to:

  1. Discuss the clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment of jellyfish stings
  2. Things should be avoided doing when treating a jellyfish sting
  3. Outline specific measures to be taken after exposure to rabies virus
  4. Apply strategies oriented to prevent the development of bite wound infections
  5. Recognize clinical features and plan the appropriate management for a patient with cat scratch disease


Target Audience and NeedsPhysicians, fellows, residents, medical students, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
