Our ID clinics are a blended mix of hospital follow-ups, HIV/AIDS (including PrEP), viral hepatitis, STIs, chronic infections, travel medicine, pre-transplant evaluations, and various referrals from primary care. Generally, two fellows, two attending physicians, and 1-2 rotating IM residents are in clinic on any given half-day. There are options to choose between Galveston and League City clinics, giving fellows flexibility that might better suit their needs. Once per month, fellows will spend ½ day participating in the TDCJ ID Clinic offering additional training in tuberculosis, invasive bacterial and fungal infections, complicated orthopedic cases, and telemedicine. Fellows desiring additional outpatient-oriented training may opt for extra clinic time as a second-year or elective months in the first year.
