PA Studies Admissions & Applications

Collaborative, hands-on training at one of the first PA programs in Texas. Where purpose meets PAssion!

Welcome to The University of Texas Medical Branch Physician Assistant Studies Program, where calling meets community.

For more than a century, UTMB has trained healthcare professionals through purpose, service, and commitment to the communities that need them most. Located on Galveston Island, our campus pairs a world-class academic medical center with the warmth of coastal Texas. There's a moment crossing the causeway — salt air, open sky — when you realize this place is something special.

Our 26-month MPAS program welcomes approximately 90 students each July. From day one, you'll practice medicine alongside dedicated faculty and interprofessional teams across diverse clinical settings — from underserved populations to one of the nation's premier academic health systems. Our graduates leave with experience and adaptability that set them apart.

Admissions reflect our values. Competitive applicants are invited to Galveston for an in-person Multi-Station Interview, because your story and character matter as much as your academic record. We want to see you, and we want you to see us.

What defines this program is our people. You'll find a community that knows your name and walks alongside you from day one to your white coat and beyond. If your desire to serve deserves training to match, join us on the island.
