Throughout the course of their training, fellows develop a research project and work closely with a faculty mentor. The Fellowship Director works closely with incoming fellows to identify their areas of interest. In the first year, the fellow will present a research proposal to the neonatology division. The neonatology division reviews each project and offers input for each fellow.
Fellows are supported in their desire to attend and present at local, national, and international conferences.
In addition, all fellows work together yearly on a quality improvement project. These projects are presented yearly at the UTMB Quality Improvement Conference.
