Osler OrationJohn P. McGovern Academy of Oslerian Medicine

The annual Osler Oration is held on or about July 12th, in celebration of William Osler's birthday.

The twenty-fifth annual event celebrating Osler's 177th birthday will take place on July 10, 2026 (location TBD).

The event will feature induction and award ceremonies highlighting the following recipients: Osler Scholars, Osler Student Scholars, and the recognition of the recipients of the John P. McGovern Lifetime Achievement Award in Oslerian Medicine, Excellence in Clinical Teaching Awards and the John and Mary Ann Stobo Award. 

The 2025 recipient of the John P. McGovern Lifetime Achievement Award was Dr. Barbara L. Thompson.
