Spring Gala

The Spring Gala, hosted annually by the Osler Student Societies, is a fund raiser where donations from the students are given to local Galveston charitable organizations. The event includes a buffet dinner, DJ & dancing, casino and photo booth. Recent door prizes given at the conclusion of the event were chances for students to win A Dinner with Faculty. The students enjoy attending this popular event in formal attire with such themes as “Casino Royale”, “Masquerade Ball”, A Medsummer’s Night Dream”, “Under the Stars”, “The Red Carpet”, “Hollywood Glamour”, and most recently “James Bond, 007”. In the past, the local charities who have been recipients of the funds raised have been The Resource Crisis Center, The Galveston Human Society and St. Vincent’s Student Run Free Clinic. In 2023, the students recognized Dr. Michael Malloy as he stepped down as Assistant Dean of the Osler Student Societies. He's successor is Dr. Jong Lee.
